Approach

ViaSign is built with the understanding that sign language is not simply a visual form of spoken language, but a complete language system with its own structure, expression, and cultural context.

This work is developed from lived experience, with the intention to support communication — not to replace it.

Language First

ViaSign focuses on transforming input into SGSL structure before expression, respecting how the language naturally flows.

Built With Care

This work is developed with care for ongoing discussions in Deaf accessibility and ethics, and remains open to learning and improvement.

Not a Replacement

ViaSign is designed as a support layer for communication, not a replacement for interpreters or human interaction.

Still Early

This system is in its early stage. Accuracy, representation, and cultural respect are part of an ongoing process.
